EVENT PLANNER Jamie founded Dream Defined Events LLC in 2015, focusing on event coordination (primarily for weddings and special occasions) in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area. She strives to provide the ideal guest experience, focusing on every detail to achieve the intended ambiance. Recently, she redirected her efforts towards the local creative art network. Jamie aims to assist artists in event execution that share their art with the community. She hopes they will serve as encouragement for emerging artists to do the same, especially artists of color.
PERFORMANCE ARTIST Her work tends to illustrate controversial narratives in society and extremely personal sentiments. Her style of movement can be described as pedestrian, heavily composed of impulsive and reactionary gestures. In her interactive and immersive performance art, she approaches the peculiar, embraces the uncomfortable, acknowledges the unseen, and challenges the conventional. Jamie produces passion projects through a movement collective she founded called The Wabi-Sabi Society.
DANCER Jamie has a background in modern, urban/hip hop, Filipino traditional dance, and ballroom, specifically Latin partner dancing (salsa, bachata, and zouk). She was fortunate to perform in prestigious locations such as Carnegie Hall and The White House. Prior to graduating from George Washington University in 2011, she studied modern dance and movement composition under Maida Withers.
